this weekend

friday afternoon, Dave came home from "puppy camp". he was with some new (and now approved!!) puppy raisers. he had a good time and they seemed to really enjoy having dave.

friday evening, Dave went to his first childrens play. Joshua Generation was having their "showcase" and showing off their many talents such as singing, dancing and instrument playing. Dave wasn't a fan of all the clapping the audience was doing, but after a while seemed to accept it more. i guess we just need to go to more plays! thanks for inviting us to your play Douglas family... dave really enjoyed it!
Dave and his biggest fans... they were dressed as orphans for their last skit... James changed before i could grab him for a picture though!
saturday morning, Dave was the chaperon for myself and two other girls to the movie theater to see Pirates of the Caribbean #4. unfortunately, my camera battery was dead and my phone takes terrible pictures... so you'll just have to believe me that we went... although my proof can be that we had two very excited girls that were going  to "go to the movies without an parent" :)

sunday is Dave's 5 month birthday! five months seems way too old for my "little man"!! so as always, in honor of Dave's 5 months, 5 things about Dave...
#1 Dave is so sassy! he has started this new thing, when he picks up something and starts chewing, he'll back away from me so i can't shake whatever it is out of his mouth... back to wearing the "humble leash" little man.
#2 Dave has lost all of his baby teeth... finally! the poor guy was having trouble eating his food with all his teeth falling out and new ones coming in. he is now the proud owner of shiny white adult teeth.
#3 Dave is excellent about figuring things out... like how to get out from under the table once he's stuck.
#4 Dave slept out of his crate, and without a tie-down for the first time last night! he started out in my bathroom, then sometime during the night climbed into his crate and cuddled with his blankets. i woke up about 3am so I quietly closed the crate door ad he slept until 8am! that's my man!
#5 Dave mastered the "switch" command while away at puppy camp. he's getting too big to not switch anymore... we also have to use the handicapped bathroom stall. Dave's just so big!

Dave comes home today!

Dave has been gone since Sunday. He has been "training" new puppy raisers :)

The protocol for new puppy raisers is before they get their own puppy to raise, they have to watch another SEGDI puppy so they can get a feel for what it's like. Since Dave is the youngest pup in our group, I offered to let them watch him. They jumped at the chance!

I've really missed my little man. It's SO quiet around here without him! I think the only good things about him being gone is, I put the crate away (more room in my room!) and we are able to be away longer without having to come home and let him outside to busy. Like Monday, we went to Venice beach... and stayed for 5 hours... it was really nice.

I talked with Dave's sitters at the beginning of the week and they told me Dave already went to the Dentist, Cherry's Restaurant and was invited to come to the local VFW. That's my man!

I pick him up at 3 o'clock today.... that time can't come sooner!

Oh goodness me...

ouch, it's been weeks since I've posted anything...sorry! Between appointments, running errands, phone calls galore, planning our up-coming vacation, keeping up with vigorous exercising (for Dave and myself), somehow losing time during the day (and days in the week), blogging has been pushed into the back of my mind. Congrats to those who have been able to blog and finish their finals... I don't know how you do it :)

Dave now weighs 44.3 pounds... This little-man is going to be huge! He is officially up-to-date on his shots with two ID tags to show for it.

Dave has lost all of his front teeth, which have been replaced with much larger, white teeth. (he looks like a buck-tooth dog... his teeth are too big for his face LOL) And he's also lost 2 back teeth. We normally find out he's loosing a back tooth when we scold him for chewing something, yet again, and come to find out it's a baby tooth!
Dave is all about his buddy Evan. Every morning, Evan walks up to Dave and lets Dave give him a huge kiss. Right on the mouth. They play all sorts of games together... in which I don't know the rules. (other then no biting, jumping, sitting, stepping or laying on each other)
Dave turned 4 months on the 22nd. I had typed out a big "happy four months" post, and was heading out to get some up-dated pictures of Dave-man and I got sidetracked... by what you ask? i don't remember. Probably someone needing help with making lunch or mom needing us to run out and get ice.
Dave proves to be a very brave boy. In the picture above, Dave is watching my dad cut some wood with a Miter Saw. You know that shrieking sound the saw makes once it starts cutting into the wood? I cover my ears at that, but Dave went on sniffing around the porch like nothing was happening. Good boy.

Dave loves nap-time. Just like his mommy :)
Our group had a meeting at the Ellenton Outlet Mall. This was our last chance to say goodbye to the 3/5 of the fabulous five (not to mention the only females in our group). Isolde, Flora and Gato, you will be missed... But we know your having a good time in college :)

I was able to set a play-day for Dave to go see Kathy Kelly (Dave's namesakes wife) and Dave's "Aunt Jenny". Dave had a great time playing and wrestling with Jenny. They wore each other out!

Both Kathy Kelly and I agree that Dave looks so much like his mom, Meg. Which makes me, very. happy. :)

So let me share this picture....
What do you think happened? Check out our families blog to find out :)

Love,
Meagan and Dave
